The number on this page is the medium-frame average of four widely used clinical formulas (Devine, Robinson, Miller and Hamwi). If you know your body frame is small or large, your own personalised number will sit about 10% below or above the figure shown here — use the calculator for that adjustment.

| 150 cm (4'11") | 51.5 kg (113.6 lb) | 48.3 kg (106.4 lb) | 42–56 kg |
| 155 cm (5'1") | 53.7 kg (118.3 lb) | 50.2 kg (110.7 lb) | 44–60 kg |

Figures are rounded averages of the Devine, Robinson, Miller and Hamwi formulas for a medium frame. The BMI range uses 18.5–24.9 kg/m² and is provided for comparison only.
Why two different ranges? The formula average targets a single frame-based ideal number, while the BMI range is a wider band considered "healthy" for that height regardless of frame. Most people fall somewhere between the two — that's normal.
Why height alone isn't the full picture
Two people can share the same height and still have different healthy weights, because bone structure, muscle mass and body composition vary. That's why our full calculator adjusts this baseline number for your actual wrist-measured frame size, and layers on a realistic weekly timeline if you enter your current weight.
How to read this chart
- Find your height in the left column.
- The "Men" or "Women" column gives the medium-frame ideal weight.
- If your frame is small, subtract roughly 10%; if large, add roughly 10%.
- The BMI range shows the wider band generally considered healthy at that height.
